Job summary

Potbelly Irving, TX is hiring a Daytime Team Member to join our fast-paced, friendly team. You’ll open the shop, prep food, and serve customers during morning to early afternoon shifts in a welcoming environment.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, with strong communication and a customer-first mindset. You must handle allergens, work in a bustling kitchen, stand for hours, and lift up to 50 lbs; Illinois applicants require food safety certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• You are at least 16 years old.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for fast-paced work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen environment; knife skills a plus.
• You can manage allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish.
• Team player who can stand for hours and assist others.
• Stand/walk to 3 hours; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front).
• Adhere to health and safety standards and keep the area clean.
• Restock the line, chips and coolers as needed.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream efficiently.
• If 18+, operate the slicer for prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms and utensils; take out trash.
• Handle cash register with accuracy and balance.
• Address customer concerns promptly and courteously.
• Process delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
