Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, seeks an experienced RN to join the Operating Room team. You will evaluate patients pre‑op, educate families, prepare patients, and support sterile workflow with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Experience with perioperative care, strong critical thinking, and teamwork are valued as you participate in timeouts, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a trusted healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN required and licensed to practice nursing.
• Degrees in nursing: Associate, Bachelor or RN Diploma as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient for surgery including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to improve patient care and workflow.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and documentation throughout shift.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to team.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
