Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a per diem surgical technician for day shifts in our operating suite. The role requires knowledge of surgical instrumentation, aseptic technique, and the ability to prepare and troubleshoot equipment for procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum education preferred: graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program.
• Certification preferences include Basic Life Support (BLS) and surgical tech credentials.
• Must have prior experience in a surgical or operating room environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and troubleshoot all surgical equipment required for procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure sterile field throughout cases.
• Monitor and count sponges, needles and instruments with the RN and surgeons.
• Assist in patient positioning and support OR safety and protocol.
