Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support perioperative services. You will prepare patients and equipment for procedures, assist surgeons by anticipating needs, and maintain sterile environments across multiple operating rooms.

Qualifications include HS diploma or GED, BLS, and CST or CRCST certification; OR experience preferred. Responsibilities include tray setup, patient prep, instrument handing, counts, suction and specimen

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• CST credential preferred; NBSTSA credential.
• CRCST credential preferred; HSPA Illinois mentioned in context.

Responsibilities

• Arrange instrument trays, prepare sterile drapes and solutions, and help the surgical team put on caps, gowns, and gloves.
• Assist with prep of patients, as needed.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts.
• Operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment; package specimens for lab analysis.
• Clinic duties may include rooming patients, taking vitals, orders, and routing calls.

Education

High School Diploma / GED

1 year OR experience (Surgical Tech)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - HSPA
