Summary:

This position will support the local area manager by providing personnel leadership, training, and ensuring the overall operational safety of the team, along with delivering excellent customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Provide feedback to the Area Manager and monitor cross-training efforts.
2. Ensure employees adhere to safety standards and address maintenance issues promptly.
3. Track performance metrics, implement process improvements, and resolve service-impacting issues.
4. Participate in customer meetings and foster strong relationships with clients.
5. Coordinate logistics activities with internal and external customers.
6. Research and stay updated on best practices in logistics and distribution operations and solutions.
7. Manage and develop department personnel to meet business needs efficiently.
8. Ensure all employees deliver the highest level of service.
9. Ensure all locations are equipped with necessary equipment (M&R, rentals).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

• Leadership skills including recruiting, hiring, team building, coaching, and mentoring; experience in training new managers/drivers and retraining seasoned staff.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Working knowledge of domestic carrier services, rules, and regulations.
• Understanding of and ability to address critical safety issues.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, E-Plan, and Geotab.
