Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for an Elmhurst, IL facility. You will coordinate shipments, receipts, and inventory while maintaining accurate ERP records and safe handling practices.

This contract-to-hire role emphasizes attention to detail and teamwork across shipping, materials, and production teams. The position requires experience in shipping/receiving, forklift operation, ERP familiarity, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
• Ability to operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely.
• Attention to detail in documentation and inventory records.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory control processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork across shipping, materials, CRT, and production teams.
• Ability to lift and move materials in a warehouse.
• Basic computer skills and data entry for ERP/shipping systems.
• Proficiency with RF scanners and warehouse tech.
• Experience with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock transfers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package parts for FedEx and UPS using protective materials.
• Monitor the shipping dashboard and ship urgent orders by day end.
• Notify shipping coordinator of delays with reasons.
• Label outgoing shipments and include packing slips.
• Inspect incoming parts for damage before unloading.
• Unload trucks and stage arriving parts for receiving.
• Verify delivered parts against packing slips for accuracy.
• Communicate discrepancies in deliveries to the materials team.
• Receive parts into the ERP system using correct purchase orders.
• Collaborate with the materials team to adjust purchase orders in ERP.
• Receive returned parts with an RMA and place on correct shelf.
• Notify CRT team and vendors about returns as needed.
• Label and store received parts the same day to maintain inventory.
• Prioritize urgent production needs and inform team leaders.
• Manage overstock using FIFO to rotate stock.
• Ensure accurate part-to-bin transfers and up-to-date locations.
• Assist with cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform general warehouse duties: picking, packing, stocking, labeling.
• Use RF scanners and data entry to support inventory control.
