Job summary

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services in Elgin, IL seeks a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to accurately enter received materials into inventory and coordinate shipments. This role focuses on documentation, communication with internal/external parties, and handling damaged goods and returns on the warehouse floor.

Shift is Monday–Friday 10:00am–7:00pm with optional overtime on weekends; safety and compliance are emphasized, including pre-employment drug testing as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math and reading skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP tools.
• Ability to communicate with plant staff and management.
• Experience with warehouse operations and forklift handling.
• Commitment to safety and accuracy in records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
• Oversee safe packaging of outgoing shipments.
• Process items for shipment per guidelines and procedures.
• Review shipping docs to determine priorities and methods.
• Ensure international shipment documentation compliance.
• Maintain professional communications with customers and suppliers.
• Perform administrative duties and follow safety policies.
