Job summary

Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vernon, Connecticut, is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor to lead long-term and short-term care operations on day shift. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, staff education, and ongoing program management to support residents.

Qualifications

• CT RN license required.
• Minimum of three years in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and medication administration.
• CPR certification required or willing to obtain.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; English proficiency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Interpret nursing policies and ensure appropriate implementation.
• Supervise and coordinate activities to maintain continuity of nursing care and provide staff education and corrective action.
• Make rounds on nursing units to ensure high-quality care and communicate with families as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and provide medical oversight.
• Verify physician orders and report clinical changes accordingly.
• Secure pre-admission reports and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Ensure medical records documentation is complete and accurate.
• Conduct chart audits and oversee physician schedules.
• Serve as DNS/ADNS in their absence and perform charge nurse duties as needed.
• Attend meetings and perform related duties as deemed necessary.
