Job summary

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in New Haven, CT is actively hiring a full-time RN Supervisor for the day shift in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will oversee a unit, supervise nursing staff, and monitor patient care with extensive clinical experience and prior administrative training.

Responsibilities include ensuring staff adhere to job descriptions, coordinating patient care, and communicating with physicians and health care teams.

Qualifications

• Must have current CT RN license.
• Experience in Long Term Care is a plus.
• Must have supervisory experience.
• Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all nursing services personnel are following their respective job descriptions.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
• Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.
• Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing staff; following up on work results.
• Perform walking rounds to ensure nursing staff are providing the highest level of resident care possible.
• Assesses residents upon admission and periodically as conditions change.
• Obtains and implements Physician Orders, checking for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicates between shifts regarding changes in resident/patient conditions.
• Participate in Facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the clinical competencies and on-going educational/orientation needs of the staff.
• Ensure that a sufficient number of nursing staff is available for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
