Job summary

Responsibilities include coordinating with the care team, documenting care, and mentoring/precepting staff as needed. ACLS is required within three months of hire; BSN preferred, Texas RN license essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license required.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire.
• Cross training to like areas.
• Willingness to be trained for charge nurse.
• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English, verbal and written; computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care for department patients per clinical standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Admit, discharge, and transfer patients; transcribe and implement orders.
• Maintain detailed nursing records and provide education to patients and significant others.
• Administer medications and therapies within safe nursing practice; ensure safety.
• Guide non-licensed staff and participate in unit/hospital committees.
• Adhere to Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards; support mission and policies.
