Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for PRN daytime coverage on the 4th Floor Medical unit. You will deliver direct patient care, perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates are Texas-licensed RNs, with ACLS within 3 months of hire, and willingness to cross-train and grow into charge nurse and preceptor roles. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• RN must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current registered nurse license in Texas required.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire.
• Cross training to like areas may be required.
• Willingness to be trained as charge nurse and to precept after 2 years of experience.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English—verbal and written; computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Execute physician orders accurately and safely.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
• Document nursing actions and provide patient education and emotional support.
• Participate in rounds and ensure unit safety and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve desired outcomes.
• Adhere to Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards; participate in committees and mandatory trainings.
