Zusammenfassung

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role includes administering aerosols, conducting ABG analyses, and monitoring patient responses to therapy across multiple units.

The therapist will educate staff and supervise students while maintaining EMR documentation and equipment readiness. The position requires two years of acute care experience, active RRT, MA license, and BLS/ACLS within 3 months.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum two (2) years of acute care experience.
• Ability to assess patients and make therapeutic recommendations along the continuum of care.
• Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English.

Aufgaben

• Works as part of a team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Reviews patients electronic medical record for appropriate history, reason for admission, pertinent data, current orders.
• Administers aerosolized medications.
• Draws and analyzes arterial blood gases; reports critical values per policy.
• Consults with physician staff concerning therapy options and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy and reports adverse reactions.
• Provides emergency care including assisting with intubation and rapid response.
