Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care Department. The role involves night shifts, supporting ventilated patients, and assisting in airway procedures across campus.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care with an active MA license, NBRC RRT credentials, and BLS/ACLS; PALS is preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus may be available for external hires.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent is required.
• Current MA respiratory license and NBRC RRT credentials are required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred; ongoing credential maintenance expected.
• Strong critical care, technical and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory modalities per department policies.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation and provides support as needed.
• Assists during intubations and bronchoscopies when required.
• Establishes treatment plans and adjusts therapy per protocols.
• Obtains arterial blood gases and collects samples for analysis.
• Sets up ventilators and oxygen delivery equipment for procedures.
• Coordinates with airway/ICU teams and supports code events.
• May perform pulse oximetry and monitor vitals as directed.
