Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Production Superintendent to direct the production/processing supervisors across departments on a single shift, ensuring cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. Must be willing to work Day shift.

The role emphasizes safety as a condition and requires knowledge of USDA regulations and strong leadership skills. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (GED) with preference for a related bachelor’s degree, and 2+ years of directly related experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of directly related experience.
• 3–5 years of supervisory training experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations.
• Strong diplomacy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs production operations and personnel to meet standards, manage budget, and provide data on products.
• Sets short-term activities for production continuity, including shift scheduling, materials requisition, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates with other plant areas to support output, productivity, and quality.
• Selects, trains, and motivates production labor to meet schedules at optimal cost.
• Recommends improvements in production flow and methods.
• Ensures effective operating procedures to improve product quality.
• Counsels supervisors on performance and efficiency.
• Recommends machine/equipment modifications to improve production and quality.
