Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated tasks under the supervision of an RN or LPN in the PACU setting. The PCT supports patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.

This full-time day shift runs 5:30am-2:00pm, Monday through Friday, at our Fort Wayne facility.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a nursing program preferred
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required; CNA certification preferred or in progress
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Records patient data including vital signs, intake/output, and report findings to RN/LPN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility, including feeding, bathing, grooming, and transfer assistance.
• Maintains infection control practices and uses PPE correctly; supports with patient positioning and safety.
