Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Burn Trauma unit. This is a Full Time, Day Shift position with three 12‑hour day shifts and rotating weekends.

The PCT will support patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and IV procedures under RN supervision. Prior CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certification encouraged.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs and mobility.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG, and peripheral IV removal.
• Document observations accurately and report changes to RN/medical staff.
