Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a registered nurse for an oncology unit to plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge. The role requires maintaining high standards and coordinating discharge planning with the care team.

Responsibilities include supervising care within the unit, delegating tasks appropriately, and adapting plans to patient needs. Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications may be required depending on unit.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of Oncology related experience within the last three years
• Chemotherapy-related experience within the last three years

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within the assigned setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency level.
