Job summary

Staff Icons, LLC in Westchester County, NY is seeking a Microbiology Supervisor for the day shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm) to lead daily laboratory operations and ensure timely, accurate results according to SOPs.

You will supervise personnel, oversee QC/QA, maintain regulatory compliance, and guide testing in moderate to high complexity workflows, with budget oversight and staff development.

Qualifications

• Four+ years in a clinical laboratory as Medical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist.
• One+ year supervisory experience in a lab.
• Experience with QC/QA and Regulatory requirements.
• Experience working the bench in the supervisory department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations and assignments for timely results.
• Provide on-site or remote support to testing personnel.
• Supervise personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing.
• Monitor analyses to maintain analytic performance.
• Address technical problems and corrective actions when systems fail.
• Ensure patient results are reported only after corrective action and system is functioning.
• Maintain procedures and quality control systems (QC/QA).
• Review quality data, statistics and performance indicators; implement improvements.
• Implement new test systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to department budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide orientation and training to testing personnel.
