Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. Responsibilities include medication administration delegation, vital signs, and daily living support for residents in a not-for-profit setting.

You'll work 6:00 am–2:30 pm, every other weekend/holiday rotation, with a $2.50/hour location premium and night/weekend differentials; a strong benefits package and opportunities for advancement are

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• State-specific CNA/CMA requirements may apply (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota).
• Active CNA registration in state of practice or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, meals, and mobility.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
