Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join PrimeCare Medical Associate in Aspinwall. The role covers back and front office duties with daylight hours and no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain and file lab/x-ray reports, schedule appointments, verify insurance.
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms and maintain infection control.
• Assist with patient flow, vitals collection, and prep for exams.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs under policy.
• Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept. of Health requirements and confidentiality.
• Under physician supervision, administer injectable meds and vaccines.
