Job summary

Swegon North America is seeking a hands‑on leader for the day shift in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. You will manage hourly employees and team leads in a unionized manufacturing setting, translating production plans into daily results while fostering a safe, organized and accountable workplace.

You will drive safety, quality, productivity and on‑time customer delivery, developing people and delivering measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years manufacturing experience, including leading hourly employees.
• Hands‑on experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of safety, quality controls, production planning, maintenance coordination, inventory and continuous improvement.
• Ability to set expectations, coach, ensure accountability and make timely decisions.
• Ability to read drawings, instructions and production schedules, and use data to prioritize and solve problems.
• Clear written and verbal communication and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and manufacturing information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead hourly employees and team leads with clarity, fairness and respect; supervise assignments and performance.
• Ensure trained employees follow drawings, specs and methods; document inspections and containment of nonconforming work.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, and data to reduce waste and downtime.
• Lead kaizen events, layout changes and capacity trials as directed by the Plant Manager.
• Verify pre-use checks, safety readiness, and coordinate maintenance priorities.
• Allocate labour, control work in progress and manage inventory and costs.
• Maintain visual performance boards and weekly results; escalate risks with facts.
