Job summary

American Senior Communities in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Day Shift Cook to join our culinary team serving our residents with nutritious meals and top sanitary standards.

You will follow menus, lead kitchen tasks, and maintain a clean work area while ensuring safety and quality in every dish. Prior healthcare kitchen experience is preferred; GED or HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent
• Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling
• Preferred: Prior Institutional and/or Healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals that meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares palatable, nutritious meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies in compliance with procedures and regulations.
