Job summary

The St. Louis County Jail in Duluth is hiring a General Maintenance Worker to perform janitorial and light maintenance duties in the Property Management Department. This permanent, full-time role operates on the day shift from 9:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m. and focuses on keeping facilities clean, safe, and orderly. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six months of custodial experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Six (6) months full-time paid verifiable experience in custodial, janitorial, building maintenance or closely related work.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, damp mops, strips, seals and waxes floors.
• Vacuums, spot cleans and shampoos carpets and rugs.
• Cleans windows and window treatments.
• Replaces defective light bulbs.
• Cleans and sanitizes areas using established practices and procedures.
• Operates light equipment related to upkeep of buildings and grounds.
