St. Louis County in Duluth is seeking a General Maintenance Worker in the Property Management Department. The role is full-time with a day shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., located at the Duluth St. Louis County Jail, performing janitorial maintenance tasks.
Essential duties include cleaning facilities, minor repairs, equipment upkeep, and following safety rules and procedures. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of custodial experience, and a valid driver's license.
There presently exists a vacancy for a General Maintenance Worker in the Property Management Department. This is a permanent, full-time position located at the Duluth St. Louis County Jail for the day shift working 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. providing janitorial maintenance work.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $21.28 - $28.75 per hour.

This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, safety and security of County facilities. Duties include cleaning facilities, maintaining equipment and making minor repairs. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

CONSTANT: Balance, grasp/handle, stand, walk and vision. FREQUENT: Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; reach, rotate trunk, stoop/bend, works alone, outside.
