The St. Louis County Jail in Duluth is hiring a General Maintenance Worker to perform janitorial and light maintenance duties in the Property Management Department. This permanent, full-time role operates on the day shift from 9:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. and focuses on keeping facilities clean, safe, and orderly. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least six months of custodial experience, and a valid driver's license.
There presently exists a vacancy for a General Maintenance Worker in the Property Management Department. This is a permanent, full-time position located at the Duluth St. Louis County Jail for the day shift working 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. providing janitorial maintenance work.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $21.28 - $28.75 per hour.

This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.

An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, safety and security of County facilities. Duties include cleaning facilities, maintaining equipment and making minor repairs. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
