Sweeping Corporation of America in Nashville, TN is seeking a Day Diesel Mechanic for the 1st shift. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulics, electrical, and air systems to keep street sweepers and equipment reliable and ready for service.

The role requires hands-on maintenance with safety, torque specs, and proper documentation. Minimal travel, competitive hourly pay, and eligibility for a first pay increase at 6 months, with comprehensive benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: 2 years hands-on in a shop with hydraulic, electrical, air systems; heavy equipment preferred.
• License: Driver’s License.
• Tools: Must provide and maintain basic hand and diagnostic tools.
• Age: Must be at least 18.
• Compliance: Pass MVR, background, DOT physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Inspection: Inspect equipment, follow safety protocols, monitor levels to prevent leaks.
• Execution: Perform assembly, repair, and preventive maintenance following specs and torque requirements.
• Equipment Operation: Use diagnostic tools to identify problems on heavy equipment.
• Material Handling: Safely handle parts, lubricants, and dispose waste per regs.
• Reporting: Immediately report issues or safety concerns.
• Communication: Relate maintenance needs to operators and team clearly.
• Compliance & Documentation: Complete service reports and checklists to ensure accountability.
• Adaptability & Problem Solving: Diagnose and adapt repair approaches to downtime reduction.
• Attendance: Maintain regular, on-time attendance on shift.
