Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for the day shift in the southwest suburban Atlanta, GA area.

The role involves building PLC panels, programming, and bringing automated equipment online, with responsibilities across pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems. Ideal candidates have 6+ years of experience, strong PLC programming, ladder logic troubleshooting, motor wiring, and safety circuit integration, and must be authorized to work in the USA without

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience in controls or automation.
• Proficient PLC programming with ability to read and use PLC context clues.
• Comfortable programming a machine process from scratch.
• Able to wire a 9-lead motor and stress test motor windings.
• Identify critical information from motor data plates for specing components such as contactors, soft starters, and VFDs.
• Familiar with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, and dry contact.
• Experience with analog control signals: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting and PLC system maintenance.
• Panel building and general electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience and safety circuit integration.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic controls from prints or schematics.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems using a computer.
• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Build and wire control panels; commission and start up automated equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine upgrades on controls and systems.
• Repair machine controls and disassemble/reassemble equipment to replace defective parts.
• Train others on installing, using, and servicing equipment.
