Job summary

HMH has an opening for a CNC Lathe Machinist in Houston, TX. The Machinist will set up and operate CNC lathes, read engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while following safety and quality protocols.

With 2+ years of CNC experience and GD&T knowledge, you will use precision measuring tools and work both independently and in a team. 6:00AM - 2:30PM shift with potential overtime and a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience setting up, editing, and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts.
• Advanced knowledge of cutting tools, processes, hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Experience of other CNC machines (CNC mill, CNC live tooling).
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and adherence to processes and policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes including turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, grooving, and other lathe operations.
• Meet safety, environmental, and quality expectations while supporting a production schedule.
• Use and maintain measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, depth gauges).
• Conduct in-process and final inspection; document results and report nonconformities.
• Inspect and ensure all dimensions are within print specifications and report any non-conformities.
