Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a CNA/Unit Secretary to join our dedicated team. You will perform clerical, receptionist and assistive duties under the direction of a registered nurse, supporting patient care and operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate is a certified nursing assistant with 18+ years, is on the Iowa CNA registry and has a 75-hour CNA program certification; BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Certification in a 75-hour CNA program required.
• Must be on the Iowa CNA registry.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical, receptionist and assistive duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide holistic, compassionate, individualized patient care.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patients and information.
• Support and participate in shared leadership and interdisciplinary decision-making.
• Mentor students, new nursing assistants, peers, and staff.
• Embrace change and lifelong learning to maintain skills and competence.
