Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque, part of MercyOne Health System, is hiring a CNA/Unit Secretary for the Day Shift in a full-time role. You will perform clerical, receptionist and assistive duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting compassionate patient care.

Requirements include a 75-hour CNA program, Iowa CNA registry, high school diploma or GED, and BLS within 30 days. The hospital offers competitive compensation and a full benefits package within a Magnet-designated system.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• CNA certification (75-hour) required.
• Must be on the Iowa CNA registry.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire and every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical, receptionist and assistive duties under RN supervision.
• Provide holistic, compassionate patient care and meet patient needs.
• Support nursing staff with unit operations and patient flow.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Mentor students and new nursing assistants as needed.
