Job summary

Meadowbrook-Care-Center in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (MA-C) to join our team. The MA-C will dispense medications to residents in our Retirement and Rehabilitation Center and interact with residents to provide top-notch care.

The role requires at least 1 year CMA experience in long‑term care, a state‑approved CMA license, strong English communication, and the ability to navigate computer systems. CPR certification is required or obtainable within 2 weeks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of CMA experience in long-term care or assisted living.
• Must be a licensed CMA with state-approved training and exam.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Effective communication with residents, families, managers, staff, visitors, and the public.
• Able to navigate computer programs with ease.
• Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to work independently when needed.
• Meet all state health requirements; CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely prepare and document oral and topical medications.
• Ensure medications administered are properly labeled.
• Measure, record, and report residents' vital signs.
• Observe and verify medication intake or application; document refusals.
• Record orders in the resident's clinical record with type, route, dosage, frequency, and strength.
• Be familiar with common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms used in medication administration.
• Gather and record information regarding incidents in the Assisted Living facility.
• Provide CPR as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
