Job summary

Meadowbrook in Cincinnati, Ohio seeks a Certified Medication Aide (MA-C) to join our Retirement and Rehabilitation Center team. The MA-C will dispense medications, document administration, and monitor residents’ vital signs in a caring, team-oriented environment.

Requirements include state-approved CMA training and licensure, English proficiency, and at least one year of CMA experience in long-term care or assisted living. CPR certification is preferred or obtainable within two weeks.

Qualifications

• At least one year of certified medication aide experience in long-term care or assisted living.
• Licensed CMA with state-approved training and examination.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must communicate effectively with residents, families, managers and staff.
• Able to navigate computer programs.
• Ability to provide resident care following facility policies.
• Must meet state health requirements and CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and document oral/topical medications for residents.
• Ensure medications are properly labeled and administered as directed.
• Record vital signs accurately and report findings.
• Observe and document medication adherence and refusals.
• Record orders in resident's clinical records with correct details.
• Follow facility policies and common medical abbreviations.
• Perform CPR as needed and assist with other duties as assigned.
