Complete Building Services in Landover, MD seeks a hands-on Building Engineer to lead operations of a 60,000 sq ft facility. The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems with preventive maintenance and vendor coordination.

Qualifying candidates have 5+ years as a Building Engineer, strong EMS management, and excellent communication skills. DC 3rd class license preferred or obtainable within 90 days; background check required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• DC 3rd class license preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Must pass background check.
• 5+ years experience as Building Engineer in a 60,000 sq ft facility.
• 5+ years operating, maintaining, and installing mechanical equipment.
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs.
• Ability to manage building EMS.
• Excellent communication/people skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain equipment to industry standards.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required.
• Assist sub-contractors for installation/repair work.
• Interface with the building manager to ensure client satisfaction.
• Complete reports of system status as directed.
• Purchase materials and maintain inventory for timely work.
• Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, and security systems.
• Prepare predictive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Document work performed on tickets/work orders.
