Job summary

Complete Building Services (CBS) is the hands-on Building Engineer lead for a 60,000 sq ft warehouse/office in Landover, MD. The role oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, chiller maintenance, life-safety systems, and regulatory compliance while ensuring tenant satisfaction.

The position requires 5+ years as a Building Engineer, with a DC 3rd class license preferred or to be obtained within 90 days. Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm, offering a salary range of $80,000–$85,000 and

• HD or equivalent; 5+ years as Building Engineer in a 60,000 sq ft facility
• DC 3rd class license preferred or obtainable within 90 days
• Pass background check
• 5+ years operating, maintaining mechanical equipment
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and equipment
• Carry out preventive and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Maintain equipment to industry standards
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical problems as required
• Coordinate with subcontractors for installation/repair activities
• Interface with building manager to ensure client satisfaction
• Document work on tickets and orders
• Purchase materials and manage inventory for timely completion
• Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, and security systems

Responsibilities

Complete Building Services is in search of an experienced, well rounded Building Engineer. The Building Engineer is the hands‑on technical leader responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse/office in Landover, Maryland. This role oversees all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, chiller maintenance, and life‑safety systems, tenant satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. The building engineer plays a critical role in preventive maintenance day‑to‑day troubleshooting of complex building systems. A DC 3rd class license is preferred or obtained within 90 days.

Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:00 pm

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000

Location: Landover, MD

Major Duties:

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Maintain equipment to industry standards
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by the supervisor
• Provide assistance and support to sub‑contractors designated to install and/or repair equipment and/or hardware as required
• Interface with the building manager and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
• Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by the supervisor
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
• Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed
• Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment to prevent breakdowns and/or outages
• Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• DC 3rd class preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Must pass background check
• 5+ years experience working as a Building Engineer within a building of similar size, 60,000 sq. ft.
• 5+ years of experience operating, maintaining, and installing mechanical equipment
• Equipment - chillers, cooling towers, AHU's VAVs, FCUs
• Must be able to manage building EMS
• Must have excellent communication/people skills
