Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Building Engineer in Herndon, VA, to operate, inspect and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems in a large Class A office building under the Chief Engineer.

The role requires 2 years of building engineering experience, a strong HVAC/plumbing/electrical background, and on-call availability. Competitive compensation is hourly and includes a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical experience in building engineering is required.
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical equipment, repair and maintenance, and system design.
• Prefer a Universal CFC recovery certification.
• Willingness to work on call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC and MEP equipment under Chief Engineer guidance.
• Develop and maintain positive tenant relations with prompt responses to requests.
• Ensure proper building functions and safe operations during emergencies.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor within the complex.
• Assist in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and limited operations of HVAC/MEP equipment.
• Assist in ordering, stocking and inventory of parts as directed.
• Administer chemical treatment and conduct tests as assigned.
• Execute ongoing preventive and repair work orders on systems and components.
