Job summary

House of Hope is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician for the day shift (7am-3pm) to support clients on their recovery journeys in a structured, therapeutic environment. The role emphasizes safety, daily living skills, and collaboration with clinical teams to sustain well-being.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and about a year of BHT experience, with a background in substance abuse populations preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of BHT experience preferred.
• Background working with substance abuse populations preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using basic computer software and digital logs.
• Strong interpersonal boundaries, adaptability and empathy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety: Patrol campus perimeters and residential dorms regularly.
• Monitor Wellbeing: Observe client behaviours and track daily activities.
• Support Clinical Teams: Report health or safety concerns to clinicians immediately.
• Build Life Skills: Assist clients with daily living habits and hygiene.
• Provide Encouragement: Offer positive reinforcement to motivate clients daily.
• Maintain Documentation: Complete shift logs and incident reports accurately using computers.
