Job summary

House of Hope Inc. seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician for the day shift (7am–3pm) to support client recovery in a structured, therapeutic setting. You will help maintain safety, monitor wellbeing, and assist with daily living activities, fostering a compassionate environment.

The role requires strong verbal and written communication, empathy, and the ability to document accurately using digital logs. Experience with substance abuse populations is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of BHT experience preferred.
• Background working with substance abuse populations preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using basic computer software and digital logs.
• Strong interpersonal boundaries, adaptability and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety: patrol campus perimeters and dorms regularly.
• Monitor wellbeing: observe client behaviors and track activities.
• Support clinical teams: report health or safety concerns to clinicians.
• Build life skills: assist clients with daily living and hygiene.
• Provide encouragement: offer positive reinforcement daily.
• Maintain documentation: complete shift logs and incident reports.
