Job summary

Summit BHC is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I for Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, TX. The role works under a licensed nurse, monitoring patient behaviors and providing continuous care within a multidisciplinary team.

Duties include safety checks, ADL assistance, vital signs, and timely documentation to support treatment goals. The incumbent will engage patients in therapeutic activities, help with crisis management, and contribute to a structured care environment onsite.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience with the specified population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures wellbeing and provides a safe, structured environment under supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living and monitors patient condition.
• Takes and records vital signs and communicates changes to the clinical team.
• Chairs or participates in patient education and rehabilitation activities.
• Maintains patient records and reports incidents as required.
• Responds to crises and assists with de-escalation and restraints when necessary.
