Job summary

Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is seeking an Assembler in Roanoke, VA. The role operates on the production line, ensuring processes are completed efficiently and handed off to the next team member. Core hours are 5:00am to 1:30pm, with an hourly rate of $20.78.

The position supports manufacturing of electrical and electronic components and assemblies. Applicants should be able to read technical documents, lift up to 40 lbs, and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Lift material onto machines, manually or with a hoist.
• Document production numbers on a board at station.
• Review purchase orders with manufacturing details, design specifications, and assembly instructions to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
• Cut and strip wires according to specifications.
• Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using pneumatic drills, drivers, rivets, bolts, glue, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
• Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
• Pack finished assemblies for shipment and place on pick up line for distribution using tape dispenser and safety box cutter.
• Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand.
• Read testing device to ensure quality of product.
• Shovel, sweep, or otherwise clean work stations.
• Operate material handling equipment which include: forklift, reach truck and electric jack.
