Jewish Community Security Inc. has an immediate opening for a Security Coordinator (Day Shift) reporting to the Community-Wide Security leadership, with assignment to the Jewish Federation of Detroit, Jewish Day Schools and/or Summer Camp Programs year-round.

The role emphasizes monitoring facilities, armed response capability, event security, and collaboration with local law enforcement, staff, and students to maintain safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of prior law enforcement or investigation.
• Excellent leadership, human relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe, secure environment while not interfering with daily operations.
• Demonstrate sound judgment in crisis situations.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with school personnel, students, parents, law enforcement, and staff.
• Physically and mentally able to meet job demands and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facilities (grounds, buildings, parking) to deter crime and ensure safety.
• Provide armed (concealed) response capability and respond to emergencies.
• Deliver security presence during arrivals, recess, and dismissal.
• Observe, report incidents, and maintain records and reports.
• Direct traffic and enforce parking when needed; ensure site order and safety.
• Operate CCTV and access control systems; notify authorities when required.
• Coordinate security for events and training; liaise with local law enforcement.
