Job summary

The Jewish Federation Bay Area is seeking a Community Security Advisor to serve as the security expert for Jewish organizations in Northern California. This hybrid role requires in-office presence Tue–Thu and travel to partner sites, with after-hours availability for incidents.

You will deliver emergency training, conduct security assessments, and collaborate with law enforcement and local agencies to strengthen community safety and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting trainings such as incident response, active threat response, first aid, STOP the BLEED, emergency protocols and procedures.
• Track record performing security assessments and implementing solutions.
• Experience with Incident Command System (ICS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) concepts, terminology, and response structure.
• Proven experience supporting a large scale client base and managing multiple complex projects.
• Experience working closely with diverse stakeholders to build alignment and drive delivery.
• Collaborative professional who engages with diverse perspectives related to security.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel across Northern California.
• Ability to respond to after-hours/weekend incidents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce and Monday.com a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conducts training workshops for Jewish organizations throughout the year, covering incident response and emergency protocols.
• Conducts on-site security assessments and provides consultation on security systems and capital projects.
• Identifies vulnerabilities and recommends physical security upgrades and vendors.
• Assists organizations in developing emergency operations plans and security protocols.
• Builds partnerships with law enforcement and government agencies for rapid incident resolution.
• Shapes the strategic direction of the Community Security program with on-ground insights.
