Job description

Description

Make Every Day Meaningful

At Magnify, a ministry of the Diocese of Orlando, we believe every person deserves opportunities to learn, grow, build relationships, and participate fully in their community. Magnify is a ministry serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Central Florida.

We are seeking a Day Program Manager to oversee the daily operations, quality, compliance, and staffing of our adult day services program. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines program management, staff supervision, documentation oversight, participant engagement, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate understands that great services require both strong relationships and strong systems. You will spend time supporting staff, reviewing documentation, ensuring compliance, monitoring participant outcomes, and maintaining an active presence within the program.

This is not solely an office-based management position. Managers are expected to be engaged in the program, interact with participants, observe services, attend community outings, and provide direct support when operational needs require.

This is a full-time position with a consistent daytime schedule.

Hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • No overnight shifts
  • No rotating schedules
  • No major holidays

This is not solely an office-based management position. The Day Program Manager is expected to maintain an active presence within the program, build relationships with participants and staff, observe services in real time, attend community outings, and provide direct support when operational needs require.

Managers may occasionally facilitate activities, lead groups, or provide classroom coverage to ensure continuity of services and compliance with staffing requirements.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable reviewing documentation, coaching employees, interacting with participants, solving operational challenges, and stepping into a classroom when needed. This position requires a leader who understands that quality services are achieved through both strong compliance practices and active engagement with the people we serve.

You’ll Do:

  • Lead the daily operations of our adult day training program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Supervise, coach, and support Day Program Coordinators and direct support staff
  • Review staff documentation to ensure services are accurately documented and compliant with APD requirements
  • Monitor participant attendance, service delivery, and staffing coverage
  • Ensure services align with participant Support Plans and program goals
  • Review incidents, documentation concerns, and service issues and take appropriate action
  • Identify documentation, billing, and compliance issues before they become audit findings
  • Train and mentor staff on service quality, documentation standards, and participant supports
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families, support coordinators, and community partners
  • Maintain an active presence within classrooms and program activities
  • Participate in community outings and special events as needed
  • Step in to provide direct support, lead activities, or cover classrooms when staffing needs require
  • Help create a program environment where participants are engaged, respected, challenged, and supported

You Might be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have strong attention to detail and catch issues before they become larger problems
  • Understand the importance of documentation, compliance, and accountability
  • Are comfortable coaching employees and holding them to high standards
  • Enjoy balancing administrative responsibilities with direct participant engagement
  • Can prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Are organized, dependable, and solutions-focused
  • Build positive relationships while maintaining professional expectations
  • Believe individuals with disabilities deserve high-quality services and meaningful opportunities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory, lead, program coordination, or management experience
  • Experience reviewing documentation, service records, or compliance-related records
  • Experience coaching, training, or supervising employees
  • Strong computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and electronic documentation systems
  • Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass required background screening
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to participate in community outings and off-site activities
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to transport and organize program materials and supplies
  • Ability to safely assist participants as needed in accordance with agency policies and training
  • Ability to enter and exit agency vehicles and transport participants when required

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Florida APD services
  • Experience with iBudget Waiver services
  • Adult Day Training (ADT) experience
  • Experience with Support Plans and implementation plans
  • Experience conducting documentation reviews or audits
  • Experience with incident management and reporting
  • Experience monitoring billing accuracy and service verification
