Job summary

AbilityPath is hiring an Adult Day Program Manager to lead program operations and supervise staff delivering adult and employment services in Palo Alto. You will ensure high‑quality supports, guide intake activities, and foster meaningful family engagement in line with Employment First principles.

You will hire, train, and supervise staff, manage budgets, document outcomes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting inclusion and community participation for participants.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or M.A. in a relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of program and staff supervision experience, serving adults with developmental disabilities
  • Strong skills in leadership, communication, and family engagement
  • Ability to manage program budgets, reporting, and compliance
  • Commitment to inclusion and supporting individuals of all abilities

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise program staff, ensuring effective performance and professional growth
  • Program Quality: Align program design with strategic goals, Employment First principles, and best practices in vocational and human services
  • Case Management & Compliance: Oversee person-centered planning, documentation, case management, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Participant & Family Support: Build meaningful family relationships, guide intake activities, and support participants in achieving success in program trials and transitions
  • Behavioral Support: Train staff on modifications, develop behavioral plans, and increase participant engagement
  • Operations Management: Monitor staff ratios, manage budgets, track outcomes, oversee facility needs, and support safety and cleanliness
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate vocational and volunteer opportunities, and transport participants to community activities as needed

Compensation: $70,000–$78,000 annually (based on education and experience)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid California Driver’s License with 3 years clean driving record (if applicable)

  • Proof of negative TB test

  • Verification of physical clearance

  • Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance

  • 21 years of age for driving positions; 18 years or older otherwise

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift/support at least 40 lbs. as needed

  • Sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently

  • Walk for extended periods, supporting adults on community outings

  • Drive company vehicles to transport participants
