Job summary

Mgcci is seeking a Day Program Coach to support individuals with developmental disabilities at community sites and help develop independent living skills through coaching and facilitation of activities. You will engage participants in active treatment and document progress across sessions.

Required are an associate degree or higher in a related field, DSP certification, good communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred.
• A combination high school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of experience working with people with disabilities will be considered.
• DSP certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Support persons with developmental disabilities at community sites and assist with independent living skills and recreational activities.
• Engage individuals in active treatment throughout programming hours.
• Advocate for participants to foster independence and skills inside and outside the workplace.
• Provide direct training in recreational pursuits and independent living skills.
• Maintain interdisciplinary communication and case notes for each individual.
