Job summary

The City of Hillsboro is seeking a dedicated Day Porter to support SHARC and Hidden Creek Community Center. This full-time, hands-on custodian role ensures public areas are clean, stocked, and welcoming, while building positive relationships with staff and patrons.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Work hours include Sundays and weekday evenings, with city-provided travel between sites when needed.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum lobbies and shared spaces.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and surfaces.
• Clean and restock restrooms.
• Monitor areas and identify spills or issues needing attention.
• Empty trash and recycling; keep disposal areas orderly.
• Respond to urgent custodial needs including spills and biohazard cleanup.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and notify when inventory runs low.
• Provide friendly, responsive service to patrons and staff.
• Coordinate with facility staff while managing tasks independently.
