We value dependable service, positive relationships, teamwork, and continuous improvement as we respond to the needs of Hillsboro’s growing community.

Position Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

The City of Hillsboro is hiring one full-time Day Porter to support the Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC) and Hidden Creek Community Center (HCCC).

This is a hands-on, customer-facing custodial position in two active recreation facilities. • Monday–Thursday: 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities

  • Sweeping, spot mopping, and vacuuming lobbies, hallways, and other shared spaces.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tables, chairs, counters, and other frequently touched surfaces.
  • Cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Monitoring lobbies and common areas to quickly identify spills, waste, or other issues requiring attention.
  • Emptying trash and recycling containers and keeping disposal areas orderly.
  • Responding to urgent custodial needs, including spills, clogged toilets or sinks, and biohazard cleanups.
  • Maintaining cleaning supplies and notifying appropriate staff when inventory needs to be replenished.
  • Providing friendly and responsive service to patrons and City staff.
  • Coordinating with facility staff while independently managing assigned tasks and priorities.
Where You’ll Work

SHARC and Hidden Creek Community Center are busy public facilities serving community members with a wide range of backgrounds and needs. The work requires regular interaction with patrons and staff while cleaning during operating hours.

Travel between the two facilities may be required during the workday. A City vehicle will be available for authorized work-related travel.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
