Job summary

Flanigan’s in Florida is seeking friendly servers to welcome guests, take orders, deliver meals and ensure a smooth dining experience. You will work with a team to uphold safety, sanitation, and high service standards while handling payments at the POS.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and fluency in English; Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications are required. This position offers a five-day work week, health plans, and employee meal benefits.

Qualifications

• Physically able to stand and walk for the full shift.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to read and write in English for orders and notes.
• Must pass Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certs.
• Experience in guest service and POS handling.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support teammates in keeping tables and areas tidy.
• Know menu items and promotions; answer guests' questions clearly.
• Take guest orders accurately and enter into the POS promptly.
• Deliver orders to guests in a timely manner from kitchen/bar.
• Assess guest demeanor and call a Manager when needed.
• Process payments and provide correct change using POS.
• Handle shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
