Gates Albert, Inc. is seeking a trainee for Davenport multi-spindle screw machine operation. The role offers full-time, extensive on-the-job training with the expectation of advancing to a Davenport multi-spindle operator.

You will work with training staff, read blueprints and orders, verify parts with gauges, perform tool changes, and adjust controls to meet tolerances while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and job orders for dimensions, tolerances, and piece counts.
• Verify conformance with gauges such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Perform tool changes and adjust machine controls to maintain tolerances.
• Keep work area clean and organized using 5S methods.
• Minimum 1 year of related factory experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with training personnel to learn Davenport multi-spindle operation.
• Read blueprints and job orders for required tolerances and output per hour.
• Verify machined parts against specifications with gauges.
• Change tools and adjust settings to stay within tolerances.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Production Leader and Engineering to improve productivity.
• Ensure 5S in the work area.

About the job: Training in the operation of a Davenport multi-spindle screw machine.

Opportunities for growth: Full time extensive training is provided to the qualified candidate with expectation of becoming a Davenport multi-spindle operator.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with training personnel to further knowledge in operating Davenport multi-spindle screw machine.
• Read blueprint and job order for such information as dimensions, tolerances and number of work pieces to be machined per hour.
• Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications using a variety of gauges including; micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, etc.
• Perform tool changes as required.
• Adjust machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
• Clean machine, tooling and parts and removes chips from machine when necessary.
• Perform minor machine maintenance as required.
• Interact with Production Leader and Engineering staff to improve productivity and troubleshoot machining problems.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area utilizing 5S techniques and methods.

Minimum Experience: 1-year related factory experience.
