Job summary

Molex is seeking a Field Application Engineer in Datacom AI Applications to lead design-in efforts for high-speed copper and fiber optics and to secure new design wins for key datacom customers. The role emphasizes close collaboration with customer engineering teams and Molex sales to resolve technical barriers and deliver innovative interconnect solutions.

The candidate will build strategic relationships with customer engineers, advance multiple projects, and coordinate with Product Management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
• Well versed in 2D/3D CAD design tools (NX preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience in electronics industry.
• Experience interfacing with customers and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Support customer engineering contacts and sales to secure design wins.
• Collaborate with development/ reliability engineers on design-in of high-speed I/O and connectors.
• Recommend improvements to interconnect systems and resolve customer issues.
• Establish strategic technical relationships with key engineering contacts at customers.
• Propose Molex solutions and assist account teams in formal proposals.
• Share knowledge with other Molex FAEs in Datacom space.
• Coordinate with Product Management, Global Sales, and SI teams.
