Job summary

Boingo is seeking a Systems SRE Datacenter Engineer to maintain and scale global production, staging, QA, beta, and dev environments. You will bridge physical datacenter operations with cloud-native automation on Ubuntu, VMware, and HPE platforms.

The role involves hands-on hardware, software updates, incident response, and IaC automation using Ansible and Terraform, with monitoring via Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, datacenter engineering, or SRE.
• Ubuntu OS, RHEL 7+, Linux CLI and admin tools; networking, systemd, permissions, package management.
• Experience operating within HPE Private Cloud Business Edition (PCBE) or HPE GreenLake consoles; VMware vSphere or HPE VME workloads.

Responsibilities

• Execute hardware rack-and-stack installations, cabling, power connections, and component replacements in data centers.
• Perform routine patching, software updates, and basic configurations across Ubuntu servers, VMware hosts, and HPE VME hypervisors.
• Monitor HPE SimpliVity and Nimble Storage health; assist with drive replacements and resource scaling.
• Respond to infrastructure alerts, perform initial root-cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Automate daily tasks using Python, Bash, Ansible, and Terraform.
